1. About Ruffy

Ruffy is an iPhone and iPad application for dog owners. It offers step-by-step training lessons, walk tracking with a map and route history, photo memories, weight tracking, achievements and collectibles, and a daily training reminder.

By downloading or using Ruffy, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use Ruffy. By using the app, you represent that:

  • You meet the minimum age requirement
  • You have legal capacity to enter into this agreement
  • Ruffy is not directed at children

3. No Account, Your Data Lives On Your Device

Ruffy has no accounts. There is nothing to register for, no password, and no server that holds your content.

Everything you create in the app is stored on your device. This means:

  • You are responsible for your own device and for keeping backups, for example through Apple's device or iCloud backup
  • If you delete the app, erase the app's data, or lose or reset your device, your Ruffy data is gone
  • We hold no copy, so we cannot recover, restore, or transfer your data under any circumstances
  • Your data does not follow you to a new device unless you restore it from your own backup

4. Subscriptions and Payments

Ruffy operates under a freemium model. The app is free to download, and some features and content require a subscription.

  • The available plans, their durations, and their prices are shown in the app before you purchase
  • Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase
  • Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
  • You can manage or cancel a subscription in your App Store account settings, and from the Settings screen in the app
  • Refunds are handled exclusively by Apple under Apple's policies
  • You can restore a previous purchase from the Settings screen, for example after reinstalling

If your subscription expires or a payment fails, premium features and content become locked again. Your data is not deleted: the app keeps recording and storing everything, and subscribing again reveals the full history.

5. Educational Purpose Only, No Veterinary Advice

Ruffy provides educational content related to dog training.

Ruffy does NOT provide:

  • Veterinary advice
  • Medical diagnosis
  • Professional animal health services

You are solely responsible for:

  • Your dog's health
  • Training decisions
  • Any actions taken based on the app's content

Always consult a qualified veterinarian for medical concerns.

6. No Guarantee of Results

Dog training results vary depending on:

  • Breed
  • Age
  • Temperament
  • Consistency of training
  • Overall health condition

Ruffy does not guarantee any specific behavioral or training results. You acknowledge that results may differ from dog to dog.

7. Walks, Safety and Outdoor Use

Ruffy records walks using your device's location services, and places virtual collectible items on the map as you walk.

You acknowledge and agree that:

  • Stay aware of your surroundings. Do not use the app while crossing roads, near traffic, or anywhere that looking at a screen is unsafe.
  • Collectible items are virtual and their positions are generated by the app. They are not an invitation to enter private property, restricted areas, or any unsafe or unlawful location.
  • You remain responsible for your dog at all times and for complying with local leash, access, and animal control rules
  • Distance, route, elevation, and other walk measurements come from GPS and are approximate. Do not rely on them where accuracy matters.
  • Background location tracking increases battery use, and tracking may be interrupted by poor GPS reception, low battery, or iOS suspending the app

8. Reminders and Tracking Features

Ruffy can schedule a daily training reminder, and lets you record weight entries and other information about your dog.

You acknowledge and agree that:

  • Reminders are informational only, and depend on device permissions and system conditions
  • Ruffy is not responsible for missed, delayed, or undelivered reminders, and must not be relied on for anything time critical, including medication or veterinary care
  • Tracked figures are records you enter or that the app estimates. They are not a medical assessment.
  • You remain solely responsible for administering any medication, care, or treatment to your dog

9. Your Content

Photos, notes, and other content you add stay on your device, and you keep all rights to them. We claim no ownership and no licence over them, because we never receive them.

You are responsible for the content you add, including having the right to use any photo you import.

10. AI-Generated Content

Some images or materials within Ruffy may be AI-assisted or AI-generated.

While we aim for accuracy and quality, we do not guarantee that all such content is error-free or suitable for every situation.

11. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Reverse engineer the app
  • Attempt unauthorized access
  • Interfere with app functionality, or circumvent the limits that apply without a subscription
  • Use the app for unlawful purposes

12. Intellectual Property

All content, branding, lessons, videos, images, and materials within Ruffy are protected by intellectual property laws.

You may not copy, distribute, or reproduce content without permission. Lesson videos are for your personal use inside the app.

13. Availability and Changes to the App

Ruffy is provided as is. We may change, suspend, or discontinue features, and we may stop distributing the app.

Some features depend on services outside our control, including the App Store, network access, and video delivery, and may be unavailable at times.

14. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted under Spanish law, Ruffy and its operator shall not be liable for:

  • Injuries to pets or persons
  • Veterinary or medical expenses
  • Accidents or incidents that occur while walking or training
  • Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
  • Loss of data stored on your device, including data lost when the app or device is deleted, reset, or damaged
  • Loss of profits

Total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by you in the previous 12 months.

Nothing excludes liability where prohibited by law, including your mandatory rights as a consumer.

15. Termination

Since there is no account, you end this agreement by deleting the app. Cancelling a subscription is separate and is done through your App Store account settings.

We may cease to make the app or any of its features available to you if you breach these Terms.

16. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms. The effective date at the top of this page shows when they last changed. Continued use of the app means acceptance of the updated Terms.

17. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Spain.

Any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Spain. If you are a consumer resident in the European Union, you also keep the protection of the mandatory rules of your country of residence.
